Registering on the padrón
The padrón (empadronamiento) is the town hall register of residents. Registering is free and gives you access to local healthcare, discounts, and is required for many other procedures. Go to your Ayuntamiento (town hall) with your passport, NIE, and proof of address (rental contract or property deeds).
