Post, parcels and Correos

Correos is the national post; each town is served by its local office and delivery round. On many urbanisations post goes to clusters of mailboxes (buzones) rather than your door, and parcel couriers often call you to arrange delivery — answer unknown Spanish mobile numbers when expecting a parcel, or the driver may return it. If a Correos parcel can't be delivered you'll get a slip or SMS to collect it from the office within about two weeks, with ID. For sending, certificado (registered) costs little and gives tracking; burofax is the legally certified option for formal communications like ending a contract. Amazon and other retailers also deliver to lockers and pickup points at local shops, which is the most reliable option if you're often out.
