Cl@ve and the digital certificate: Spanish admin online

Two tools let you do Spanish bureaucracy from your sofa instead of a queue. Cl@ve is a login system for government websites — register once (at an office with your NIE/TIE, or via video call) and you can check SUMA bills, traffic fines, social security and tax records online. The certificado digital goes further: a file installed in your browser that legally identifies you, letting you sign submissions, download your padrón certificate, and complete most trámites end to end. Get it free from the FNMT website: apply online, verify your identity once in person at a registration office (many town halls do it), then download. If this sounds like work, it is — but every trámite afterwards stops requiring a morning off. Gestorías can also operate with your authorisation instead.
